Are you ready for a cup of the
BEST HOT CHOCOLATE?
Fall is all about the weather changing and cooling off. Cloudy days, leaves changing, and cuddled up with the best HOT CHOCOLATE or at a football game with a cup of the best hot chocolate! Right! My family loves hot chocolate rather it’s to warm up in the morning or to sit back at the end of the day. We LOVE our hot chocolate.
This recipe I’ve been making since my kiddo’s were little and we didn’t have a store that close, not to mention the budget was a little tight. So making my own in bulk was the answer and for me homemade is almost always better. I love how creamy and smooth this mix tastes. If you want it more chocolatey, just add the cocoa and a little more powdered sugar and you’ve got it!
It’s always fun to top it with marshmallows. I used Mini Marshmallows for fun, the kids love them!
- 1 pkg. dried milk (20 qt. size) or 18 cups
- 16 oz. Original Coffee Mate
- 2 lb. Nestle Quik
- 2 cups powdered sugar
- If you like it more chocolatey add ½ cup cocoa add 1 cup powdered sugar
- Mix all ingredients together thoroughly.
- Store in a tightly closed container.
- When serving allow ⅓ cup mix to 1 cup hot water. Stir Well.
- Top with marshmallows (optional).
Two things I’ve learned, don’t substitute the Nestle Quik or the Original Coffee Mate. For me it just doesn’t taste the same, it’s worth the few extra cents. Check for the ingredients at a Family Dollar, they have those brands and at a great price!
Like my containers says, “Chocolate is the answer, who cares what the question is?”
So make you a cup of the Best Hot Chocolate of sit down, put your feet up, read a book and enjoy!
